QuitTheHit Attempts to Educate Consumers about Credit Unions

The Virginia Credit Union League is looking to encourage consumers to switch to a credit union, and is using the video below to drum up interest:

I'm not going to lie; I found it a little…weird.

But oddly compelling.

And, of course, the idea of a smaller bank or a credit union is appealing to many. I know that we enjoy a nice, low interest rate on the credit card we have through the university's credit union. It's our emergency card, and the low rate has been extremely helpful in the past.

Many people have been considering credit unions as a result of the betrayal many felt after the financial meltdown in 2008.

What do you think of this video? And do you use a credit union? Why or why not?

I agree that it’s weird and oddly uncomfortable to watch. This said, however, it seems to be a successful technique to grab people’s attention! Good points, too.
